The Hail Region Development Authority organizes the introductory meeting about the Investment Enablers Program in the tourism sector
The Hail Region Development Authority, with the support and guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Emir of the Hail Region, Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, the Hail Chamber and the region’s secretariat, organized today the introductory meeting on the “Investment Enablers Program in the Tourism Sector” in the presence of the CEO of the Hail Region Development Authority. Omar Al-Abdul-Jabbar, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism for Empowering Tourist Destinations, Engineer Mahmoud Abdul-Hadi, the President of the Hail Chamber, Hani Al-Khulaifi, and a number of investors, entrepreneurs, and those interested in the tourism investment sector, at the Hail Chamber.
The meeting aims to strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a global tourist destination and improve the tourism investment system in the region, in addition to increasing the contribution of the private sector and creating new investments, and towards facilitating the investors’ journey in an integrated manner.
The CEO of the Hail Region Development Authority explained that the objectives of this meeting will contribute to supporting the tourism investment system in the Hail region and provide investment opportunities for investors, which is considered today as one of the tourist destinations in the Kingdom and an icon of tourism due to its diversity in cultural and natural heritage, which includes two sites registered with the organization.UNESCO World Heritage Site, through its ancient history and unique climate, has made it one of the beautiful places in our country for those looking for distinctive destinations.
He stated that the Authority is continuously working in coordination with the relevant government sectors to support and enhance qualitative investment opportunities in the region due to the importance of their roles in this sector, as the Authority has signed more than 17 memorandums of cooperation, the objectives of which include: attracting investments to the region, and supporting the private sector in the field of tourism investment in the region. Hail, in addition to participating in local and international activities to review the main capabilities, and in order to highlight the qualitative opportunities in the tourism sector in the region’s tourist destinations to reach sustainable tourism investment that contributes to supporting the national economic system.
For his part, the Chairman of the Hail Chamber stressed that the private sector is an essential and vital partner in developing the tourism sector in Hail through investment, innovation, infrastructure improvement, marketing and quality of tourism services and strategic partnerships, indicating that the Hail region is witnessing a remarkable growth in economic activities, which represent more than 25 thousand activities at the end of 2023, with a growth rate of approximately 10%, and in the tourism sector in particular, whether the arts, entertainment and tourism sector, and the accommodation and restaurants sector, which recorded a growth of 21% at the end of 2023, which had a clear impact in increasing the occupancy of the tourism sector.
