The CEO of the Hail Region Development Authority, participates in the closing ceremony of the Hail Camel Avenue Festival
Yesterday evening, Saturday, June 8, 2024, the Hail region witnessed the closing ceremony of the Camel Avenue Festival, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Emir of the Hail region, and a number of senior officials, camel owners and lovers of their heritage
The ceremony included many folkloric performances and popular paintings that embodied the authenticity of the Saudi desert, in addition to performances of camels and purebred Arabian horses. The winners of the various festival competitions were also honored, which included design, racing and printing competitions
His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad delivered a speech in which he praised the success of the festival in achieving its goals of promoting the heritage of camels, spreading their culture, and highlighting their role in Arab civilization. His Highness also stressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s continued support for such events that contribute to preserving popular heritage and enhancing the position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a global tourist and cultural destination
The Camel Avenue Festival, which was held over the course of a whole month, witnessed wide participation from camel owners from various Arab Gulf countries, as the festival included more than 30,000 heads of rare, purebred camels. The festival also witnessed many accompanying events, such as heritage exhibitions, handicrafts and local products, in addition to various artistic and cultural performances
The Camel Avenue Festival is one of the most important cultural and tourism events in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as it contributes to introducing the world to the culture of camels, their ancient heritage, and their role in the life of Saudi society
The closing ceremony was attended by the Authority’s CEO, Mr. Omar bin Abdullah Al-Abdul-Jabbar
